Laredo College continuously accepts applications for part-time (adjunct) instructors to create a pool of candidates for each session/semester. Applications will be reviewed and positions will be filled based on department needs. Applications received for this pool will remain active for one year.
Position RequirementsUpon employment, candidate must reside in the state of Texas.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Fiber Optic Technician Adjunct Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality, hands‑on, and classroom instruction in the Certified Fiber Optic Technician program. The instructor is responsible for preparing instructional materials, delivering classroom and laboratory instruction, evaluating student performance, maintaining a safe learning environment, and ensuring compliance with institutional and industry standards. The instructor will support student success by delivering high‑quality workforce training aligned with Fiber Optic Association (FOA) standards and current telecommunications industry practices.

Fiber Optic Fundamentals, Fiber Optic Installation, Fiber Splicing, Fiber Testing, Broadband Infrastructure, Safety Procedures, and Industry Standards.

Required- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 5 years of professional full‑time experience in Fiber Optics including installation, maintenance, splicing, testing, broadband systems or telecommunications infrastructure.
- Valid State Driver’s License.
- Associate degree or technical certification in Fiber Optics, Telecommunications, Electronics, Industrial Technology or related field.
- Previous teaching, instructional, or workforce training experience. Experience with Fiber Optics Association (FOA) standards and certifications.
- Fiber Optic Association (FOA) Certified Fiber Optics Specialist/Instructor (CFOS/I) certification preferred. Candidates who are not currently certified must be willing and able to obtain FOA CFOS/I Instructor Certification prior to the start of assigned…
