Position: PT Student Teacher Supervisor (COED)

Job Summary

The Student Teacher Supervisor under general supervision is responsible for evaluating the performance of teacher candidates in the assigned schools in local and surrounding communities.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the performance of teacher candidates in classroom settings of local and surrounding areas.
  • Complete a minimum of four formal classroom evaluations.
  • Develop model lessons as needed.
  • Participate in and/or conduct seminars.
  • Attend department or college meetings required by the Department, Chair or Dean.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Master’s degree in an education-related discipline.
  • Five years of experience in classroom teaching and/or non-teaching administrative position.
Qualifications
  • Current certification in the class in which supervision – currently seeking educational diagnostician, principal or school counseling.
  • Knowledge of teaching standards and assessment.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical analytical skills to provide constructive feedback and assess candidates’ performance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to conduct face-to-face, online, and verbal presentations.
  • Ability to communicate technical information and instructions to a diverse audience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently once given a project.
Licensing / Professional Certification
  • Texas Education Agency r.
  • Current Texas Teaching Certification.
  • Active certification as a Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T‑TESS) appraiser.

Other Requirements
  • Position may require occasional travel; must be able to provide own transportation to assigned schools.
  • Requires campus, face‑to‑face interactions and maintaining a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.
Compensation

Pay: $16.00 per hour for up to 19 hours weekly.
