The Safety Training Coordinator will be responsible for planning, developing, delivering, and overseeing safety training programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, company policies, and the enhancement of safety culture within the organization. This position ensures that training is consistent across all divisions and locations, and that employees at all levels are equipped with the knowledge and skills to work safely and efficiently.
Essential Functions:1. Training Program Development, Design, and Implementation: 50%
- Designs and implements safety training programs, including course content, materials, and training aids.
- Ensures consistency in training programs across all divisions and locations to maintain uniform safety standards and practices.
- Customizes training modules for different roles and responsibilities within the organization.
- Evaluates and updates training programs to ensure alignment with the latest safety regulations and organizational needs.
- Conducts safety training sessions for employees, supervisors, and designated trainers.
- Coordinates on-site and virtual training sessions to ensure broad access and engagement.
- Coordinates and facilitates new hire safety orientations and ongoing refresher training.
- Develops testing and evaluation processes to measure training effectiveness.
- Collects and analyzes feedback from training participants to make continuous improvements.
- Prepares reports on training outcomes and compliance metrics for management review.
- Works with project teams and other departments to identify training needs based on work projections and emerging safety trends.
- Collaborates with divisional leads and regional teams to ensure uniform implementation of training programs across the organization.
- Provides guidance to supervisors and employees on best practices in training facilitation.
- Assists in the creation and distribution of safety-related infographics and educational materials.
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Education, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of combined experience in analyzing training needs, developing, coordinating, and delivering training required. A relevant combination of education and experience can be used in lieu of the experience requirement.
- OSHA 511 & 501 certification preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of OSHA 1910 and 1926.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with training software systems to maintain training matrices, schedules, and documentation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and instruct various audiences.
- Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement practical solutions.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple training programs and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building positive relationships with employees, supervisors, and cross functional teams.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Able to adapt and modify training approaches based on feedback and changing needs within the organization.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in training content and delivery.
- Able to facilitate training in both classroom and hands-on environments, maintaining participant engagement and focus.
- Able to design visually appealing and effective training materials, including infographics, presentations, and computer-based training.
- Able to motivate and inspire employees to value safety practices and integrate them into daily work routines.
- Primarily office-based but with moderate travel to job sites and other locations as needed.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Able to stand, walk, climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, lift, carry, push, pull, handle products, and stretch for extended periods with or without reasonable accommodation.
