Job SummaryThe Student Development Specialist I, under direction, provides professional and supervisory assistance for the advisement,coordination and organization of student developmental programs,activities, and/or services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assists in the advising of a variety of student groups/organizations.
- Counsels and advises students on personal and educationalmatters.
- Acts as a referral resource for students.
- Helps to guide students in planning and scheduling social and budgetary procedures
- Prepares informational and educational publications
- Assists in maintenance of pertinent student and administrative records
- Coordinates and assists in planning in-service training programs
- Issues memoranda and prepares administrative reports.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities- Assists students in exploring career interests, educational goals, and career readiness opportunities through individualconsultations and group programming.
- Develops and delivers workshops, presentations, and educational programs on student success, leadership development, career readiness, and related topics.
- Assists with the coordination and promotion of programs that support student success, career exploration, and professional development.
- Assists in developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with campus departments and community organizations to support student development opportunities.
- Education - Bachelor's degree.
- Experience - No experience.
Knowledge of:
- Word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
Ability to:
- Multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Oral and written communication skills.
