The Water Quality Inspector is responsible for collection of bacteriological and chemical samples to monitor the drinking water distribution system. Performs hydrant flushing along with chemical analysis. Responds to customer drinking water complaints and provides customer service while problem solving. Performs equipment maintenance and calibrations.

- Collect water supply samples and transport them for laboratory analysis of bacteriological content.
- Document chemical and physical parameters of water quality from each sampling site through written and electronic means.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on monitoring equipment and sampling infrastructure and conduct daily calibrations on instruments.
- Respond to water quality complaints or issues, document findings and close out 3-1-ls.
- Coordinate and complete sample collection for residents, schools, and daycares for Lead and Copper Rule Compliance.
- Deliver professional internal/external customer service.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- At least one (1) year of experience in customer service, inspections, or water/wastewater related activities.
- Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained 6 months prior to employment.
- Obtain a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality Class D Water Operator License within one (1) year.
A part of the minimum requirements for all positions with the City of Laredo, a thorough background check and certified school transcripts will be required from all applicants who are offered employment.
