Shelter Advocate - Onsite - Laredo, TX

Responsible for working with administrative and direct services in developing and implementing emergency shelter services, i.e. crisis intervention, crisis counseling, intakes, assessments, orientations and cooperative living agreements.

Qualifications

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Experience:
  
  Educational experience in human services or equivalent life experiences.
• Prefer knowledge and/or experience with residential care settings.
• Prefer knowledge and/or experience in crisis intervention and/or crisis counseling.
• Other:
  Strong household management capabilities.
• Ability to work rotating shifts.
• Ability to work extended hours as needed.
• Ability to lift and push 50 pounds.
• Basic computer skills.
• Preferred Experience:
  
  Prefer knowledge and/or experience with residential care settings.
• Prefer knowledge and/or experience in crisis intervention and/or crisis counseling.
• Preferred Other:
  Bilingual preferred.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
