Phlebotomist Position

Under the general supervision of a supervisor, the phlebotomist assumes the responsibility for safely performing venipunctures and related procedures under the philosophy, policies, and procedures established by hospital and lab department.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, medical assistant or phlebotomy certificate preferred, BLS required, knowledge of the various types of needles, anticoagulant, special handling, and preparation of tests that are to be performed, on the job training or vocational school training required, ability to read and write to follow written and oral instructions, excellent people skills and communication skills, and bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
