Role Overview

The Medical Technologist I performs routine and specialized laboratory tests on blood and body fluids to support patient care. This role involves ensuring accurate results by following quality control protocols, maintaining instruments, troubleshooting issues, and adhering to safety standards. Responsibilities include conducting tests, performing instrument checks, troubleshooting malfunctions, and supporting regulatory compliance through data collection and proficiency testing. The position may also involve teaching new staff, performing phlebotomy, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure efficient laboratory operations.

Maintaining accurate records, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring safety are key duties.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related science
  • Certification via ASCP, AMT, or AAB required
  • 0-2 years of acute care laboratory experience
  • Strong understanding of lab procedures, quality control, and safety
  • Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with laboratory information systems and record-keeping
