This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Laredo Sector, Mission Readiness Operations, located in Laredo, TX. Additional selections may be made for other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

Duties

As a Mission Support Specialist (Workforce Management), you will leverage advanced administrative concepts, laws, policies, practices, and analytical methods to resolve technical issues and drive organizational effectiveness. This position starts at a salary of $64,111.00 (GS-09, Step
1) to $ (GS-11, Step 10). GS Salary:

The Mission Support Specialist (Workforce Management) serves as a liaison between Mission Readiness Operations and various support offices to carry out projects, perform studies, and address technical issues or problems related to the workforce.

Duties and responsibilities include:
Assisting managers and supervisors with administrative coordination related to disciplinary and adverse actions, grievances, and changes to working conditions; serving as a liaison with Human Resources and Labor-Employee Relations to support resolution of complex workforce issues; and assisting with implementation of policies related to workforce and position management. Maintaining workforce reports and updating information for agency manning documents; coordinating with supervisors and staff to ensure timely completion of actions and receipt of required documentation;

and submitting and monitoring personnel actions. Serving as a liaison with support offices, including Labor-Employee Relations, EEO, workers' compensation staff, and counsel, on matters with workforce implications; and preparing reports using internal data sources and agency automated systems to support managerial information needs. Performing general mission support activities, including coordinating travel and training, organizing logistical elements, analyzing non-overtime budget information, supporting procurement and acquisition actions, and serving as a point of contact for headquarters and/or sector office staff.
