GIS & Database Coordinator​/Systems Administrator

Job Description

The GIS & Database Coordinator/Systems Administrator is responsible for the oversight and maintenance of the Town Geographic Information System (GIS). The position will also assist the Technology Manager in providing system support for municipal projects, programs and other related work as required. This role involves frequent contact with other Town departments, elected officials, residents, and others on matters that are often complex, sensitive, and/or confidential.

Excellent communication, customer service, patience, courtesy, discretion, and tact are required.

Typical qualifications for this position include a Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, computer science, geography, cartography, planning, or a related field, and 3-5 years of technical expertise in GIS management and database implementation; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

The anticipated pay range is $43.00 – $46.00 per hour, and the work schedule is 14 hours per week. Starting pay is based on qualifications.

The final candidate will be subject to a criminal background check, motor vehicle record check, and physical exam prior to hire.
