Commodity Coordinator

Full‑time, permanent Commodity Coordinator – Laredo, Texas

• Allocate sales orders and work orders at the distribution centre one day in advance when possible.
• Manage inventory using FIFO, LIFO, and FEFO methods.
• Ensure proper rotation is followed by shipping and repack departments; communicate issues in daily inventory meetings.
• Determine product quality grade before allocating to sales orders and work orders.
• Ensure all required work orders are entered by the scheduler for main repacks and by yourself for infrequent repacks.
• Collaborate with the Production Scheduler on production planning based on current quality and supply.
• Review inter‑facility transfers, purchase orders, returns, and grower packing to determine allocations.
• Evaluate daily truck ETAs to ensure allocated product meets delivery times; communicate delays to the CM/Shipping team during daily operations meetings.
• Assess all product daily for allocation and planning purposes.
• Work with the Commodity Manager to develop solutions when roadblocks arise.
• Provide allowance requests to the Commodity Manager as needed.
• Deliver daily push lists on extra and problematic inventory to the Commodity Manager.
• Coordinate daily with Commodity Managers on grower packing schedules.
• Maintain a three‑day outlook and communicate any same‑day or next‑day issues at daily production meetings.
• Resolve after‑hours allocation and quality issues as required.
• Comply with all Health and Safety, Food Safety, Bio‑Security, and Nature Fresh policies and procedures.

• Positive attitude and enthusiasm for work and learning.
• Prior experience in a produce warehouse setting is an asset.
• Experience with Excel and MS Dynamics Nav (or other ERP systems) is an asset.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain respectful relationships at all levels within and outside the organization.
• Capability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment while handling some independent tasks.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast‑moving environment while remaining detail‑oriented.
• Adaptability to rapid growth, innovation, and development within the company.
• Safety shoes are mandatory.
• Valid driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle are required.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and extended hours if needed.

• Fast‑paced warehouse environment with temperature‑controlled areas.
• Interaction with a diverse team, including guest workers, locals, and vendors.
• Full‑time hours with holidays as needed.
• Balance of sitting, standing, walking throughout the warehouse and coolers; occasional desk work.
• Occasional light lifting when required.
• Regular bending, twisting, and reaching.
