Customs Specialist – Entry Writer

Responsibilities

• Perform Customs business activities
• Responsible for transactions with U.S. Customs (CBP)
• Conduct effective research and communicate with clients and/or CBP
• Manage Customs entries, monitor clearance, and recordkeeping
• Review Customs documents to be filed with CBP ensuring accuracy
• Verify classification and valuation with the importer when necessary
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations
• Obtain appropriate documents required to support claims or disclaims
• Ensure timely payment of duties, taxes, or other charges collected by CBP
• Maintain documents required under 19 CFR 163
• Monitor and track customs clearances and resolve any delays or issues
• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, customs brokers, and government agencies
• Attend provided trainings
• Support development and implementation of customs compliance procedures and policies

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Customs brokerage
• U.S. Customs Brokerage License Certification in customs compliance or a related area preferred
• Experience working with a variety of industries and commodities
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations, processes, and documentation
• Attention to detail and accuracy in customs declarations and record-keeping
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
• Experience with ACE Secure Data Portal
• Computer Literacy Proficient in using customs management software and systems
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Demonstrates expertise in Customs brokerage, ensuring compliance with regulations and accurate documentation. Proficient in managing customs entries and effectively communicating with clients and government agencies.
