Position: Maintenance Worker, (A263196-2), 203, Buena Vista Sports Complex

Assists in ensuring that buildings and grounds are properly maintained.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job‑related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

  • Performs general clean‑up and maintenance of city facilities; replaces light bulbs; cleans the bathrooms and ensures that they are adequately stocked with toilet paper, paper towels and soap; washes and waxes floors and shampoos carpets.
  • Maintains and monitors inventory for cleaning supplies.
  • Maintains all equipment used to perform work.
  • Cleans and maintains parking lots for traffic department.
  • Drives truck to haul trash.
  • Performs general ground maintenance; cuts grass with lawn mower, weed‑eater and edger; climbs trees to trim limbs.
  • Paints the walls and fixtures; moves chairs, tables to set‑up special group meetings and trainings.
  • May perform minor electrical and plumbing repairs.
  • Assists in the maintenance of air‑conditioners and heating systems in accordance with accepted practices and procedures.
  • Cleans and washes the air‑conditioner filters on a weekly basis.
  • Performs carpentry activities when needed including painting and masonry work as needed.
  • Assists in maintaining good communication between staff, visitors and other business contacts.
  • Must follow all rules of telephone courtesy in all telephone communications.
  • Performs related work as required.
