JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Primary function is to supervise a variety of general warehouse activities and support staff. This job description reflects the current assignment of essential functions and is not meant to be all-inclusive. ESSENTIAL

JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Warehouse Operations Leadership: Direct and oversee all aspects of daily warehouse operations. Ensure smooth coordination between departments to meet production and shipping goals. Identify inefficiencies in processes and recommend and implement improvements to increase productivity and accuracy. Monitor workflow to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Allocate resources effectively to meet shifting demands.
  • Outbound Shipment Management: Supervise picking, staging, and loading of outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy in quantity and product selection. Verify shipment approvals and ensure correct carrier assignment and dispatch in a timely manner. Troubleshoot issues to minimize disruption.
  • Inbound Shipment Supervision: Oversee unloading, staging, and accurate labeling of inbound shipments. Ensure all OS&D issues are reported and resolved promptly. Maintain up‑to‑date records in the warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Equipment and Trailer Oversight: Ensure proper organization and maintenance of trailers and warehouse equipment. Schedule routine maintenance and safety checks. Monitor usage and recommend repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Special Project Execution: Coordinate and manage special projects, ensuring timely and cost‑effective completion. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve warehouse operations.
  • Inventory Control & Cycle Counting: Lead daily cycle counts, oversee inventory reconciliation, and ensure accurate stock levels. Develop and implement best practices; address discrepancies promptly.
  • Employee Supervision and Development: Supervise and develop staff, ensuring training, skill development, and adherence to safety protocols. Conduct performance appraisals; coach and enhance productivity and team cohesion. Assist with hiring, onboarding, and continuous training.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety standards and company policies. Conduct safety audits and implement corrective measures. Ensure all employees are trained in safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and reports on all warehouse operations, including metrics and incidents. Generate reports for upper management and recommend improvements based on data.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Four (4) years work experience, including two (2) years supervising personnel in warehouse operations in public or private organization, with experience in personnel management, budgeting, or procurement.
  • Forklift certification preferred; experience operating an order picker.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • License or certification may be required; attach copy if applicable.
KNOWLEDGE,

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of safety and legal procedures for handling and receiving goods.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals.
  • Knowledge of general building and warehouse work practices and procedures.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate shipment records.
  • Practice safety procedures for all equipment.
  • Strong leadership, motivational skills, effective team building.
  • Excellent planning, managerial, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Judgment in applying departmental policies.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, both oral and written.
  • Use of computer hardware, software, word processing, spreadsheets.
  • Valid Texas Driver License and good record.
  • Positive working relationship with coworkers and contacts.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Work performed outdoors in various weather conditions; exposure to fumes, smoke, gases, dust, grease, and oils.
