AE - Merchandising Team Leader; Assistant Manager

Your Role

As the full‑time Merchandising Team Leader, you are the Store Team Leader's "go‑to" in developing and implementing the Merchandising strategy for the store. Your passion lies in training and coaching your team into great merchants delivering AEO brand Visual standards every day. Through your leadership, your team always nails floorset execution, and rocks merchandising and marketing brand standards. You ensure the store is always "guest ready" through effective replenishment.

• Drive sales as a key Leader on Duty, an expert at maximizing Fitting Room and Sales floor productivity and building guest loyalty through a best‑in‑class guest experience. Contribute to the overall financial success of the store by analyzing reporting and daily trends to make strategic business decisions. Serve as the Store Team Leader's right hand in developing short and long‑term business plans to drive key KPIs.
• Act as a merchandising innovator: coach the team to deliver an outstanding guest experience by ensuring the store is always representative of AEO Brand Standards. Lead day‑to‑day merchandising, sell‑through adjustments, and replenishment. Identify merchandising opportunities and take action with a game plan.
• Lead people: motivate and inspire the team through AEO's core values. Be a role‑model leader and hold the team accountable to rocking AEO's customer service standards, especially on the Sales floor and in the Fitting Room.
• Recruit and hire strong talent to ensure the store is properly staffed for business needs. Train and develop team members to continue providing outstanding service.
• Drive teamwork and performance: provide ongoing feedback through real‑time coaching, touch‑bases, development plans, and performance reviews. Celebrate outstanding performance to drive associate engagement.
• Innovate operations: execute and refine daily operational procedures, support visual standards throughout the store, and keep Fitting Rooms guest‑ready and up to Date with AEO Brand Standards.
• Maintain integrity: uphold store safety standards, commit to Asset Protection standards, adhere to AEO's policies and procedures, and consistently do the right thing.

• Passion for AE and Aerie products.
• Previous retail management experience leading teams.
• Strong multitasking, attention to detail, priority‑setting, and time‑management skills.
• Ability to lead and develop teams and understand general employment law.
• Business acumen.
• Flexible availability, able to work during peak guest hours.

  • Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location.
