Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Freight Broker Sales Manager with an existing book of business to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in freight brokerage, exceptional sales skills, and a strong ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and carriers. You’ll play a key role in growing our customer base and ensuring seamless transportation solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and grow your existing customer base while prospecting new business opportunities.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through prospecting, cold calling, and networking.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with shippers, carriers, and other key stakeholders.
- Negotiate rates with clients and carriers to maximize profitability while delivering value to all parties.
- Manage the end-to-end freight process, including quoting, booking, tracking, and troubleshooting shipments.
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activity.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs consistently.
- Play a key leadership role in building and mentoring a future sales team as the business scales.
- Minimum 2 years in freight brokerage, logistics sales, or 3PL operations.
- Active shipper relationships and repeat customer base required.
- Strong understanding of transportation, logistics, and supply chain processes.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in freight brokerage software (e.g., TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A results-oriented mindset with a drive to exceed targets.
- Include any licensing requirements, if applicable, e.g., a valid freight broker license.
- Competitive base salary plus commission. Potential to make $100k per year.
