The Branch Manager in Training (BMIT) position is a performance-based, hands‑on, customer-focused role that delivers results related to individual and branch sales goals as well as customer expectations. The role requires meeting all performance goals and metrics for the branch, complying with all federal and state regulations and company policies. Responsibilities include an active role in customer acquisition, marketing, collections, and participating in all marketing and collection efforts.
The BMIT is a developmental position that leads to a Branch Sales Manager role.
Actively assist in meeting the branch’s performance metrics. Utilize sales tools to provide an exceptional customer experience and apply sales and marketing techniques inside and outside the branch. Serve day‑to‑day a growing consumer loan portfolio. Present financial solutions tailored to customer needs. Develop new relationships and maintain existing ones throughout the loan process and life cycle. Educate customers on loan terms and conditions.
Build trust with customers and internal staff by embodying the organization’s philosophy, core values, and purpose. Deploy community marketing efforts to generate sales and track results.
Assist in managing the P&L and meeting budgeted numbers. Adhere to company policies, procedures, core values, and applicable regulations. Maintain accurate cash controls, security procedures, and required documentation. Enter customer and transaction data accurately into the point‑of‑sale system and maintain customer files. Perform and document collection calls, field visits, and approved collection activities. Complete other duties as assigned.
Team & LeadershipWork closely with and support others in a positive, team environment to enhance the customer experience. The BMIT is responsible for day‑to‑day branch operations and communication with customers and employees under the direct supervision of the Branch Sales Manager and Divisional Director of Operations (DDO).
Education RequiredHigh School Diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
Experience RequiredSales and/or customer service experience required. One year of experience in one or more of the following areas preferred: sales, retail, banking, or collections.
Knowledge RequiredStrong math skills, ability to count cash, professional verbal communication, ability to read, write, evaluate, and apply complex information, professional social skills, negotiation of payment terms, compliance with policies and laws, computer program usage for customer transactions, composure in stressful situations, and ability to develop and maintain business relationships.
Physical RequirementsStanding for long periods, sitting occasionally, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling, reaching, twisting, lifting less than 10 lbs. occasionally up to 20 lbs., driving and having access to insured, reliable transportation during the workday, typing, data entry, housekeeping duties, use of office equipment, and possible travel to any center within the division.
