Part-Time Maintenance Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following:

* Perform repairs and maintenance tasks such as painting, patching, re-lamping, replacing ceiling tiles, door hardware repair, and correcting simple plumbing problems, as required.

* Assist other Maintenance Mechanics in performing routine preventative maintenance on electrical equipment, motors, controllers, and electro/mechanical devices.

* Respond to building service calls; assist Maintenance Technicians in troubleshooting problems within facility and taking corrective action.

* Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on domestic water systems and related mechanical systems.

* Perform minor structural and mechanical tasks, electrical maintenance, and other duties.

* Prepares a variety of surfaces (e.g. cleaning, sanding, patching, masking, nail holes, cracks, joints, etc.) to insure they are ready for painting and/or refinishing.

* Operates, cleans and maintains all painting equipment, including brush, roll, sprayers and electrostatic sprayers, pumps, etc.

* Interpret, explain and apply building codes, rules and regulations involved in assigned maintenance activities.

* Follow the preventive maintenance program, energy management program and standard operating procedures for all machinery and equipment.

* Perform proper methods of labeling, storing equipment, materials, and supplies in a safe manner.

* Record and log all work performed, complete work order slips and compile all required reports in a timely and complete manner.

* Promote a safe working environment for all employees by following the life safety and emergency program as needed.

* Operate equipment, such as, light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, access lifts, or other light power driven equipment.

* May occasionally have to enter areas where fumes, airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals are present. Work at heights using correct safety equipment.

* Develop and submit lists of necessary repairs and improvements.

* May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/

Experience:

* High School Diploma or GED required, or 2 years of comparable experience plus required related experience may be considered in lieu of diploma.

* Technical training in HVAC preferred.

* Apprentice Electricians License preferred.

* EPA Universal Certification preferred.

* Two (2) years' experiences operating and maintaining building mechanical systems to include HVAC, plumbing, electrical and fire and life safety related experience

Other Qualifications

Be licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.

Possess any licenses, certificates or training required by local, state, or national authorities for the operation of the equipment found in the facility.
