Cable Technician Opportunity

CTI Consulting & Staffing is partnering with a growing network infrastructure organization to place three Cable Technicians for an onsite deployment project in Laredo, TX. This is an immediate-start, 3-month contract with strong potential to extend. You'll be part of a field installation team responsible for deploying structured cabling and network hardware across multiple active client sites. This is hands-on work in real construction environments - if you like building things, working with your hands, and seeing a project come together, this is the role for you.

Install structured Ethernet cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a) across multiple client sites. Install EMT conduit per project specifications and safety standards. Perform rack and stack of network switches and UPS equipment. Mount and position wireless access points and outdoor wireless bridges. Mount and support physical security cameras. Inventory and track hardware, materials, and installation progress. Work safely and effectively in active construction environments, above ceilings, and in confined spaces.

Collaborate with a field team to meet project milestones on schedule.

Requirements:
What You Bring Must-Have:
Local to Laredo, TX - this is a fully onsite role; candidates must be available to work in Laredo daily. Hands-on experience installing structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, and/or Cat6a). Ability to work on active construction sites, above ceilings, and in confined or tight spaces. Physical ability to lift and carry equipment, climb ladders, and stand/bend/kneel for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.

Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team. Must not require visa sponsorship to work in the US.

Nice-to-Have:
Prior telecom or low-voltage installation experience. Experience working on construction sites alongside other trades. Low voltage, BICSI, or structured cabling certifications. Experience with wireless access point or security camera installation. Familiarity with hardware inventory and materials tracking.
