Job Description
The Army National Guard uses a wide range of systems that help protect and serve the force. As a Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment Repairer, you’ll be in charge of maintaining chemical decontamination equipment and quartermaster machinery. You will train to maintain laundry and bath equipment, pumps, engines, burners, filter units, and water purification units. Your work will support special purpose equipment, decontamination and protective filter systems, smoke generator systems, and chemical electrical systems.
Job Duties- Service internal combustion engine ignition/fuel/cooling/electric systems
- Perform damage assessment and repair
- Internal combustion engine theory
- Interest in shop mechanics, fixing engines, and machinery
After 10 weeks of Basic Training you’ll attend 12 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT), which includes hands‑on and classroom instruction in marine engine maintenance and repair, internal combustion engine theory, and hand and power tools usage and care. You’ll learn valuable job skills while earning a regular paycheck and qualify for tuition assistance.

Requirements- Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
- Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED
- Must be between 17 and 35 years old
- Must pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
- Must meet citizenship requirements
