Job Description & How to Apply Below
Mobile Diesel Technician – Laredo, TX [Full-Time]About This Opportunity Transwest Mobile Truck Repair is launching a brand-new service market in Laredo, and this is one of our key first hires in the region. You won't be stepping into an existing structure — you'll help build it. As a founding technician in South Texas, you'll operate with a high degree of autonomy, represent the company directly with customers, and set the standard for service quality and professionalism from day one.

Laredo is one of the busiest freight corridors in North America, and the customers here depend on trucks, trailers, and equipment staying in service. We're looking for a technician who can handle both sides of that work — heavy-duty diesel and general equipment repair — and who takes pride in being the person customers ask for by name.

This is not a role for someone who needs constant oversight. If you want to be trusted to run a territory the right way, this role was made for you.

What You'll Do:

Serve as a primary mobile technician supporting customers throughout Laredo and the surrounding South Texas / border region

Diagnose and repair heavy-duty diesel engines, transmissions, drive trains, and electrical/multiplex systems

Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems on construction, industrial, and material handling equipment

Perform brake, suspension, steering, cooling, fuel, DEF, emissions, and HVAC repairs

Service and repair heavy trucks, trailers, fleet vehicles, forklifts, and off-road/construction equipment

Use OEM and aftermarket diagnostic software to find root causes — not just swap parts

Work independently in the field, managing your daily workload, service priorities, and customer interactions

Communicate directly with fleet managers and site leadership with clear repair recommendations and honest updates

Complete preventive maintenance and accurately document all diagnostics, repairs, and inspections

Source parts and communicate requirements efficiently

Help establish best practices and service standards as we build out the Laredo operation from the ground up

What You Bring:

5+ years of hands-on diesel and/or heavy equipment repair experience, preferably in mobile or field service

Proven diagnostic ability across engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and drivetrain components

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound decisions in the field

Professional, customer-focused communication skills

High level of integrity, reliability, and personal accountability

Ability to supply your own standard hand tools appropriate for the role Valid driver's license and clean driving record (company service truck provided)
Ability to pass background and drug screening, plus any customer site requirements

Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in indoor/outdoor environments

Preferred Qualifications ASE certifications or OEM training (Cummins, Detroit, CAT, Allison, Freightliner, etc.)Experience with Cummins INSITE, CAT ET, Allison DOC, Service Ranger, JPRO, or similar diagnostic software

Prior experience as a lead tech, senior tech, or primary field technician

Welding/fabrication experience or CDLBilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus in this market

Why This Role Is Different:

Ground-floor opportunity:
You're not joining an existing team — you're helping launch one. Your standards will shape how Transwest Mobile operates in Laredo.

Real autonomy:
Manage your territory, your schedule, and your customer relationships. Leadership support is there when you need it — not hovering over your shoulder.

Skill growth: A brand-new market means broader work and broader equipment exposure than a typical fleet role.

Impactful work:
Tackle challenging repairs that keep critical equipment operational in one of the country's busiest freight hubs.

What We Offer:

Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance Health Savings Account with company match
401(k)
Life and Disability Insurance Paid Time Off and Holidays Referral Bonus Program Monthly performance bonus potential

Overtime opportunities based on performance

On-the-job training and advancement opportunities

Work boot allowance, uniforms, and cleaning provided

Company take-home service truck provided
