BriefJob Description
This position assists agency staff and supervisors in providing human services to families involved in Child Protective Investigations (CPI) cases, including transportation and documentation of services. Responsibilities include supervising visitations between parents and children and performing clerical functions while interacting with DFPS staff and the public.
Responsibilities- Provides transportation for clients to and from appointments as requested.
- Observes and/or supervises parent and child visits.
- Completes appropriate forms and documentation, including data entry into IMPACT and other agency systems.
- Maintains outgoing paper and/or electronic appointment calendar.
- Performs clerical duties such as typing, filing, faxing, copying and answering/receiving telephone inquiries.
- Promotes respect for cultural diversity among coworkers and all contacts.
- Attends work regularly in accordance with agency leave policy.
- Assists DFPS caseworkers in supervising children, ensuring safety, food, hygiene, education, and recreation during stays.
- Performs other duties as assigned to maintain unit operations.
- Knowledge of Child Protective Investigations.

- Ability to supervise children of various ages.
- Computer proficiency: personal computer, software packages, basic office equipment.
- Work in an office supporting several staff members.
Requires a reliable personal motor vehicle, a valid Texas driver’s license, and an acceptable driving record. Proof of driving record, insurance, and license must be provided.
Initial Screening Criteria- High‑school diploma or equivalent.
- One year full‑time experience in social services, clerical, secretarial, administrative support, general office, or FPS.
- Thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
- Frequent travel to homes and offices both within and outside the assigned region; approximately 75% of time on the road.
- Ongoing flexibility required; may entail out‑of‑hours or overnight travel.
Regular, full‑time, non‑exempt; no telework. Requires background check and driver’s record check.
