Job Summary

Assist department staff and perform general office duties. Handle routine office inquiries from employees and students and support day‑to‑day departmental operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Answer phones, file documents, schedule appointments, and organize departmental materials.
  • Provide clerical support and maintain department records.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Undergraduate students must be enrolled at least half‑time (6 credit hours per semester).
  • Graduate students must be enrolled at least half‑time (3 credit hours per semester).
  • Maintain a TAMIU overall GPA of 2.0 for undergraduates and 3.0 for graduates.
  • Meet all other requirements specified in TAMIU’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAPP).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficiency with a personal computer and common software applications.
  • Ability to organize, multitask, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Problem analysis and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to learn and use multiple software programs.

Other Requirements
  • Work on campus with face‑to‑face interactions.
  • Maintain a regular schedule of attendance that does not conflict with class hours.

Pay Rate

$8.00/hour for up to 19 hours weekly.
