Student Worker (EH&S)

Laredo, Texas
Assist department staff and perform general office duties.
Responsibilities- Handles routine office inquiries from employees and students.
- Assists in the day‑to‑day maintenance and responsibilities of the assigned department.
- Responsible for clerical functions including answering phones, filing, scheduling, organizing, etc.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Students must be enrolled at least half‑time (6 credit hours per semester for undergraduates, 3 for graduates). Undergraduate students must maintain a 2.0 overall TAMIU GPA; graduate students must maintain a 3.0 GPA and meet all other requirements stated in TAMIU’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAPP).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Proficiency in using a personal computer workstation and common software applications.
- Ability to organize and multitask functions to ensure compliance with deadlines.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills.
- Problem analysis and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to learn and use multiple software programs.

Other RequirementsPosition requires on‑campus, face‑to‑face interactions and a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace. Work schedules are created by the department based on departmental needs but must not conflict with the class schedule. Promptly complete all required trainings and submit timesheets biweekly. Some evening and weekend work may be required. Subject to funding and/or need.
Pay$8.00 per hour for up to 19 hours per week.
