Job Title

Is responsible for picking up dead animal carcasses throughout the City.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description

• Retrieves dead animal carcass from public right of way and places in garbage truck or special vehicle provided for this purpose.
• Operates garbage truck and hydraulic systems on vehicle.
• Works with dispatcher and supervisor when scheduling pick-ups as they are called in from the public.
• Assists on trash collection and routes doing special pick-ups for monthly reports.
• Maintains equipment by doing preventive maintenance checks and reporting needed repairs to supervisor.
• Assists other crews in collecting refuse or operating equipment as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Ability to maintain good health and physical condition sufficient to permit the full performance of the duties of this position.

Required Education and Experience

• At least one (1) year of experience in refuse collection, laborer, or maintenance work.

Required Licenses or Certifications

• Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
