Role Description The Dispatcher Mexico Operations is a full-time, on-site role located in Laredo, TX. This position coordinates daily cross-border freight movements between the United States and Mexico, ensuring loads are scheduled, assigned, and dispatched in alignment with delivery timelines and customer requirements. The dispatcher communicates with drivers, customers, and partner carriers to provide load details, resolve issues, and update delivery statuses.
Responsibilities include monitoring routes and transit times, managing documentation related to shipments, and maintaining accurate records in dispatch systems. The role also involves collaborating with operations and customer service teams to improve efficiency, support safety and compliance, and uphold SBC Transportation’s service standards.
Qualifications
- Operational coordination and logistics skills, including experience with dispatching, route planning, and load scheduling.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities to interact effectively with drivers, clients, and partner carriers in a fast-paced environment.
- Organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail for documentation, recordkeeping, and status tracking.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills to address delays, route changes, and operational challenges promptly and effectively.
- Basic computer and systems skills, including familiarity with dispatch or transportation management software and standard office applications.
- Fluency in English;
Spanish language skills are highly beneficial for Mexico operations. - Knowledge of cross-border freight, transportation regulations, or customs processes between the U.S. and Mexico is a plus.
- Ability to work on-site in Laredo, TX, in a team-oriented environment, including occasional extended hours as business needs require.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in logistics, supply chain, or transportation is an advantage.
