Warehouse Worker - First Shift

Overview

Penske Logistics is looking for warehouse associates to become part of an excellent team! This is a great opportunity for individuals who are safety conscious and have a pleasant, outgoing attitude who want to excel in a warehouse environment.

This new operation is located in Laredo, Texas. New hire orientation is projected to be in August.

Monday to Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (weekends/holidays as required)

Base rate: $21.63

• Accurately match numbers & letters
• Accurately stage and sort products for loading
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Sort and place parts in racks or other designated areas
• Stack cardboard boxes and pallets
• Stack and secure picked product in a stable manner for shipping
• Select and process multiple orders at a time
• Move materials within the warehouse
• Comply with all safety requirements
• Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
• Perform quality control
• Identify and remove damaged products when received
• Communicate with associates from other shifts
• Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

• No prior warehouse experience required but preferred.
• Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required (Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred).
• Ability to work independently, customer service, multi‑tasking, organizational skills, flexibility, excellent numbers and time management.
• Flexible to work overtime preferred.
• Ability to work in non‑climate‑controlled conditions required.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required.
• Complete a Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.

• The associate will be required to remember and understand certain instructions, guidelines, or other information.
• Must be able to see and verbally communicate. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• Will frequently move, stand, walk and sit, use hands to touch, handle and feel, reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs (45 kg).
