Job Summary
Maersk Ground Freight (MGF) offers transportation services such as FTL, LTL, brokerage, cross-border trucking, groupage, and sortation hubs. We connect and simplify global trade for a growing network of customers across multiple channels.
Responsibilities- Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute them to production workers or the assembly line.
- Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, convey them to the packing station or shipping department, and mark materials with identifying information.
- Open bales, crates, and other containers.
- Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
- Weigh or count items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Arrange stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
- Compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
- Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language SkillsAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Bilingual in Spanish is helpful, but not necessary.
Physical DemandsThe employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WorkEnvironment
The employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat; occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places; noise levels in the work environment are usually loud.
Pay Range$17.50 per hour
