Dispatcher
Laredo, TX
OverviewThe Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating the movement of shipments, trailers, and warehouse activities to ensure accurate and timely deliveries. This position communicates with drivers, warehouse teams, and customers while maintaining proper documentation and tracking shipment status.
Responsibilities- Coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities.
- Dispatch drivers and assign loading/unloading instructions.
- Monitor trailer arrivals, departures, and yard movements.
- Verify shipping documents, invoices, bills of lading, and load information.
- Enter shipment details and update information in warehouse systems.
- Communicate with warehouse personnel to ensure orders are prepared and shipped on time.
- Track shipment status and provide updates to internal teams and customers.
- Assist with resolving delays, shortages, or shipment discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation.
- Coordinate trailer assignments and dock scheduling.
- Follow company safety procedures and C-TPAT security guidelines.
- Support warehouse operations as needed.
- Previous experience as a dispatcher, warehouse clerk, shipping/receiving clerk, or logistics coordinator preferred.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and transportation processes.
- Ability to read and understand shipping documents (BOLs, invoices, packing lists).
- Basic computer skills and data entry experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
