Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with experience in various accounting software. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting payroll management, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The Accounting Clerk will play a key role in the day-to-day financial operations of our organization.

Duties

• Perform data entry for accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end close processes.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to identify discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP regulations in all accounting practices.
• Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
• Utilize accounting software such as Quick Books, for various financial tasks.
• Prepare reports for internal use.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in accounting software including Quick Books Enterprise - contractor version.
• Strong understanding of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and technical accounting principles.
• Knowledge of construction contract accounting practices and public accounting standards is a plus.
• Excellent math skills with the ability to perform accurate calculations and data analysis.
• Familiarity with balance sheet reconciliation, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting processes.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration within the finance team and across departments.
• Ability to work independently while adhering to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
