McManus & McManus, your trusted legal advisors since 1953, is looking to add a Bookkeeper to our Largo firm.
Job OverviewThe Bookkeeper will manage daily financial transactions, ensuring strict compliance with Florida Bar Trust Accounting rules (IOLTA), and handles legal billing, payroll, and reconciliations. Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate trust/operating accounts, processing client invoicing, and managing vendor payments.
Key Responsibilities- Trust Accounting & Compliance: Maintain and reconcile trust/IOLTA accounts in compliance with Florida Bar rules. Keeps funds separate, and maintains proper records to reduce compliance risks.
- Billing & Accounts Receivable: Generate client invoices, track billable hours, and manage collections.
- Full-Cycle Bookkeeping: Perform bank and credit card reconciliations, manage accounts payable, and handle TimeCO timeclock and send payroll for payroll company to run.
- Expense Management: Track client-related costs and maintain receipts for accurate billing.
- Financial Reporting: Generate monthly P&L and balance sheets for firm leadership.
- Post to clients account: postage and E‑signature usage.
- Manage Agency Accounts (occasionally as needed): assist in incapacitated client bill pay, review of accounts, and coordination with care manager when attorney serves as power of attorney or Trustee.
- Experience with legal accounting, trust accounting, and IOLTA compliance (Preferred).
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Knowledge of Florida legal billing procedures and trust account regulations.
