Position: Buyer 1

Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Buyer to independently manage all purchasing and vendor relationships across our organization. This role is responsible for sourcing services, software, and operational supplies to support business needs while ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery. As the sole procurement professional, you will own the full purchasing cycle—from vendor sourcing to order management—while helping improve processes and control spend.

Responsibilities
  • Source, evaluate, and select vendors for services, software, and operational needs
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service terms
  • Create and manage purchase orders; track orders and resolve issues
  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships
  • Monitor vendor performance (cost, service quality, responsiveness)
  • Partner with internal teams to understand needs and ensure timely delivery
  • Monitor and maintain proper inventory of operations consumable expense items
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative vendors
  • Maintain accurate procurement records in ERP or financial systems
  • Improve purchasing processes and support basic reporting (spend, open orders, etc.)
  • The annual expenses to be managed is between $3-5 Million excluding capital projects and initiatives.
Requirements
  • 3–7 years of purchasing/procurement experience
  • Experience working independently or in a small team
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Experience with ERP or purchasing systems (SAP B1 preferred)
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Must maintain a positive attitude in a high-performance team environment.
  • Must pass background check and random drug screenings.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency Experience in a service-based or professional services environment
  • Familiarity with contract review and vendor agreements.
  • Experience managing indirect spend (software, subscriptions, services)
Physical Requirements
  • This position typically operates in an office environment, with no significant travel. Daily, in-office, on-site presence at Pharma Link Headquarters is required.
