Position: Director, Business Development Manager - Resilient Connectivity Portfolio (RCP) (Hybrid)

Overview

Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, is hiring a Director in Business Development for its Resilient Connectivity portfolio, reporting to the Executive Director of business development for the Mission Systems business unit. The role leads the business development team supporting pursuits and new business capture across U.S. and international communications and datalink technologies, products and services.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a valued partner to the VP/GM for Resilient Connectivity and a contributing member of their leadership team.
  • Manage the annual orders pipeline, focusing on competitive pursuits.
  • Collaboratively lead multi‑functional capture efforts and go‑to‑market strategies within the Resilient Connectivity business.
  • Supervise a team of business development professionals as a functional manager.
  • Plan and manage New Business Investment funds.
  • Develop and lead capture strategies within the General Management triad (Program Management, Engineering and Business Development) to shape, define, pursue and capture new business, including business cases, gate and milestone reviews, competitive intelligence, price‑to‑win analyses, market shaping, influencing and customer engagement.
  • Forecast, capture new/existing opportunities and maintain relationships with military service and platform OEM customers.
  • Present and articulate compelling business growth opportunities, including market and competitive analysis and price‑to‑win strategies.
  • Explore the environment for business and strategic growth opportunities.
  • Prepare company profiles on competitors and potential acquisition candidates, including financial analyses, Strategic Financial Plans and Annual Operations Planning.
  • Leverage extensive experience and professional networks with senior internal and external personnel.
  • Travel 25–50 % of the time.
Qualifications (Must Have)
  • University degree with a minimum of 14 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 12 years of experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued Top Secret security clearance, U.S. citizenship required.
Qualifications (Preferred)
  • 10+ years of defense industry experience leading a team in developing and executing new business competitive capture strategies.
  • Substantial experience with communication technologies (basic RF principles, waveforms, encryption, antennas/apertures) across platforms, including guided weapons.
  • Substantial experience working with defense platform and weapons OEMs.
  • Experience using and managing Salesforce CRM.

Compensation

Salary range: 186,200 USD – 353,800 USD. The range reflects all experience levels. RTX considers factors such as role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid – the role will work regularly both onsite and offsite; the onsite work ratio will be determined in partnership with the leader.
