Position: Cyber Infrastructure Engineer II (Onsite)

Job Overview

Cyber Infrastructure Engineer – Onsite – Largo, FL, U.S. Citizen required with active TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities
  • Account for power consumption and cooling load in a datacenter.
  • Work with HVAC and Electrical facilities personnel on site.
  • Configure, manage and maintain physical and virtual infrastructure.
  • Perform required maintenance of VMware virtual infrastructure, including off‑hour support.
  • Implement and maintain ESXi, VM, and vCenter DISA STIGs.
  • Install, configure and integrate servers associated with a VMware virtual infrastructure.
  • Perform backups, troubleshooting and problem resolution for servers associated with a VMware virtual infrastructure.
  • Build highly available server clusters in a vSphere environment.
  • Build and configure virtual networks.
  • Document, test, and implement virtual services and devices.
  • Assess and evaluate current virtual computing infrastructure and provide recommendations for enhancements.
  • Create and maintain VM templates used for rapid deployment of virtual machines.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures.
  • Create and defend system change requests.
  • Manage user requests for assistance, application installation and upgrades.
  • Maintain, configure and operate secure computer systems, network servers and switches.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors, document problems and resolutions, prioritize issues and assess impact.
  • Support security staff in compliance and vulnerability audits, implement security remediation and assist during accreditation events.
Qualifications – Required
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of computer, network and security systems.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with strong analytical, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited oversight; self‑directed and able to prioritize work.
  • Active, transferable Top Secret U.S. government‑issued security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Must be able to attain and maintain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ or CISSP preferred).
  • Typically requires a STEM degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field.
Qualifications – Preferred
  • Experience with datacenter power, cooling load calculation planning, and supporting datacenter thermal inspections.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, and Linux (basic).
  • Understanding of network engineering fundamentals: OSI layers, IP addressing, subnetting, TCP/IP stack, VLANs, DHCP, etc.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and applications as required.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing computer security; ability to adopt both offensive and defensive approaches.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work with limited supervision, and collaborate with risk‑averse customers as a self‑starter.

Compensation

Salary range: $68,900 – $131,100 USD.
