Job Overview

The Mission Systems Hardware Engineering Department seeks a Senior Components Engineer to lead parts control, standardization, and obsolescence mitigation for protected communications systems. Responsibilities include reviewing datasheets, providing recommendations, generating documentation, and implementing parts control plans.

What You Will Do
  • Provide parts obsolescence support: investigations, trade studies, mitigation in risk mitigation approaches.
  • Drive the technical obsolescence mitigation process for a program, keeping detailed action logs updated and directing tasks for some team members.
  • Understand detailed mechanical/electrical design layouts and design documentation using CAD tools.
  • Perform financial reporting, including earned‑value inputs, workload planning, and proposal support; occasional travel for installation and design verification.
Qualifications – Must Have
  • Background in components engineering, including guiding component selection.
  • Experience creating and peer‑reviewing procurement control drawings such as Source Control Drawings or Vendor Item Control Drawings.
  • Experience in broad‑based mechanical/electrical hardware engineering.
  • Experience with obsolescence reporting and tracking.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance (Secret).
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in STEM or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years experience.
Qualifications – Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or similar) with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Understanding of tin whisker risk, gold embrittlement risk, and experience with mitigation plans for military applications.
  • Experience with qualification requirements for military hard‑critical items.
  • Experience preparing customer and/or management level briefings.
  • Program and project management experience, including cost and schedule reporting.
  • Experience developing technical and cost proposals.

Compensation

Salary range: 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Location & Position Type

Worksite: US-FL (Largo) or US-MA (Marlborough). Must be onsite. Must accept mandatory in‑person interview step if reserved.
