Hours: 30 hours per week

Pay: $22.00 – $27.75 USD

Job Description

The Banking Associate delivers TD’s Brand promise at a store location, accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals.

Depth & Scope
  • Process customer transactions, open new accounts and educate customers on all banking products and services.
  • Deliver end‑to‑end advice: building trust with educational content & tools, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights & recommendations.
  • Use TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers, acquire and deepen relationships through advice and guidance.
  • Identify opportunities to promote and educate on products, services and refer customers to appropriate team members or internal bank partners, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Accurately complete everyday banking transactions on the teller line or on the platform while uncovering customer needs and educating on products, services and tools or referring to experts.
  • Service customers on both the teller line and platform, including opening/closing deposit accounts, everyday bank transactions, debit/credit card issues, Regulation E, mobile and online banking.
  • Manage leads: create & manage self‑generated leads, manage partner/retail referral leads or campaign leads, conduct outbound calls/SMS, set/host appointments, prioritize leads.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year of customer‑service experience (volunteer, education, military preferred).
  • Demonstrated customer‑service skills preferred.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Teller experience preferred.
  • Required to complete Teller training and part 1 of platform training upon hire.
  • Strong organization skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills—concise, clear, consistent.
  • Effective problem‑solving and prioritization abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Sound judgment in decision‑making and problem‑solving.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Notary license preferred.
Accountabilities

Customer

  • Consistently provide legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating and referring TD products.
  • Establish and nurture relationships by actively listening, identifying needs and offering solutions or partner referrals.
  • Manage wait times by scheduling, rescheduling or canceling appointments.
  • Serve as first point of contact for inquiries and resolution, orchestrate walk‑in traffic.
  • Support the bank’s customer‑service strategy and consider impact of decisions on stakeholders.
  • Drive referrals to store colleagues and partners for complex financial needs.
  • Ensure compliance and policy adherence, complete training, and maintain audit readiness.
  • Know and follow TD Code of Conduct.

Shareholder

  • Execute activities in compliance with regulations such as BSA and Patriot Act.
  • Process cash, deposit and withdrawal transactions accurately.
  • Handle account servicing requests including opening/closing, deposits, checks, card reordering, address updates.
  • Ensure regulation, policy and critical date compliance.
  • Apply authentication, due diligence for new accounts and transactions.
  • Manage cash drawers, maintain balances, secure cash, follow open/close procedures.
  • Act as dual control agent when required; follow authentication policy.

Physical Requirements

The role involves a mix of sedentary tasks, periodic lifting (under 25 lbs), occasional standing, walking and operating standard office equipment. Continuous concentration, reading, writing and performing standard arithmetic is required.
