GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS CONSULTANT II -
Responsibilities
- Monitor and review Child Care Food Program contractors' program compliance within a defined geographic region of Florida, completing written reports within required time frames and conducting follow‑up monitoring as needed.
- Represent the Bureau as a primary witness in administrative hearings.
- Provide technical assistance, training, guidance, and counsel to contractors, including interpretation of program requirements, liaison services, and new contractor training for prospective centers, homeless shelters, and After school Meal Programs.
- Conduct pre‑approval visits to prospective contractors and provide training and technical assistance to existing contractors as needed.
- Assist contractors in the preparation of applications, review applications for accuracy and completeness, and forward them to the Department for approval.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of federal and state Child and Adult Care Food Program regulations, rules, requirements, and procedures.
- Knowledge of daily operations of a childcare center or day‑care home, child nutrition, data analysis, and correct grammar usage.
- Ability to interpret regulations, analyze processes, identify problems and provide solutions, implement corrective actions, evaluate results, and present findings effectively.
- Strong planning, organization, prioritization, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to travel and present information to contractors.
Qualifications
- Minimum:
Four years of professional related experience, extensive local day travel in a multi‑county area, and familiarity with Florida statutes and administrative codes. Access to records containing social security numbers may be required. - Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and two years of professional related experience, or a master’s degree substituting for one year of experience.
