Medical Front Office Receptionist/ Patient Services

This is a full time opportunity for our private Rheumatology practice in Largo, FL. Seeking competent, dependable Receptionist. We are looking for a bright, energetic individual with good communication and patient care skills.

Position for scheduling appointments, assessing patient's current signs and symptoms, concurrently evaluating their past medical history and current medications, as well as follow up calls/appointments etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Answering telephones (scheduling, general office calls)
  • Greeting patients, check in/out procedures
  • Maintaining medical records
  • Scanning, faxing
  • Entering insurance information, completing insurance paperwork, collecting payments
  • Handling correspondence with physicians/hospitals
  • Assisting patients with scheduling imaging procedures, testing, referrals, etc.
  • Scheduling appointments, register patients for all services, ensuring patient demographics and insurance information is appropriate
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • 1 years as a medical Receptionist
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR and Medicare Guidelines preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information
  • Reliable and a self-starter. Must be able to work independently with limited direction as well as demonstrate sound judgment and initiative.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated organization skills, including ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Able to work in a high volume/fast-paced environment
  • Capable of a flexible work schedule, including overtime hours as needed
  • Must be able to interact with patients, insurers and team members in a responsible, professional and ethical manner
  • Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Posses a high degree of accuracy in work output

Performs most duties under artificial lighting, with some daylight from windows or doors. Most work is performed over the phone or in-person. Building is air conditioned during the summer months and heated during the winter season. Building has tiled floors.
