POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a professional position providing peer mentor services to adults and families in the Families Intensive Treatment Program (FIT) under the Families First Division. The FIT program offers an intensive wraparound approach to engaging and working with parents who have at least one child under 10 years old and have entered the child welfare system due to parental substance misuse.

The goal of these services is to reunify children with their families. Services are provided in the home, school, and community by a counselor and behavioral health case manager team, who will work intensively with the parent and children to address the behaviors that led to the referral to the FIT program.

Certified Peer Mentors support clients through a team-based approach while helping them access community resources, system navigation, and vocalizing their voice and choice. The individual in this position will have lived experience in living with a SPMI and will have previously navigated the legal system, the crisis behavioral health system, believe recovery is possible, and that treatment works. The Peer Mentor will be required to become a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS) within six months of accepting the position.

This is a field position. The Peer Mentor is responsible for ensuring an annual client-facing client care number of 1,410 hours annually. Achieving the minimum required weekly, monthly, and annual client-facing client care hours is an essential function of this position.
