Senior Embedded Systems Security Engineer – LARGO, FL (Onsite)
Position within Collins Aerospace’s Product Cybersecurity Organization. Requires an active SECRET clearance and U.S. citizenship. Onboarding requires a valid government‑issued security clearance prior to the start date.
What You Will Do- Support system certification and accreditation, including Risk Management Framework (RMF) Authorization to Operate (ATO) and National Security Agency (NSA) Type1 Cryptographic Certification.
- Decompose, allocate, implement, and verify cybersecurity requirements using system engineering practices.
- Analyze system requirements, models, and diagrams to identify potential security vulnerabilities.
- Participate in system design discussions and provide security engineering input.
- Collaborate with systems engineers and developers to integrate security considerations into system design.
- Contribute to a culture of collaboration and continuous learning within the team.
- Stay aware of evolving security threats and industry best practices.
- Conduct security‑focused system verification and validation, including writing test plans, performing test conduct, and providing remediation recommendation analysis.
- Experience with RMF applied to mission systems in disconnected DoD environments.
- Familiarity with general technical security concepts, technologies, and implementations.
- Strong technical writing skills and ability to develop security documentation.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform deep dives into system requirements.
- Ability to interpret system models, diagrams, and architectures to assess security risks.
- Direct experience in System Security Engineering.
- Typically requires a STEM degree and minimum 5years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree and minimum 3years of experience.
- Active and transferable SECRET clearance.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Experience with NSA cryptographic certification, Cross Domain Solution (CDS) requirements, and NIAP.
- Demonstrated leadership behaviors, including collaboration, effective communication, and strategic vision.
- Familiarity with DOORS, JIRA, Confluence, Cameo (MBSE), or other systems modeling and agile tools.
- Advanced security certifications (e.g., CISSP, Security+).
- Prior experience with embedded systems and communications security protocols for aerospace environments.
- Knowledge of DoD security assessment tools (SCC, NMAP, Evaluate‑STIG, Nessus, ACAS, Vulnerator, eMASSster).
- Active and transferable TOPSECRET clearance is a plus.
Salary range:$86,800–$165,200
USD per year. Compensation is based on experience, education, and skills.
