Collins Aerospace is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join the Starburst Engineering Department. The position involves implementing and sustaining cyber security solutions for the Starburst program.
Responsibilities- Implement and sustain requirements for deployed products and services in operational and sustainment states.
- Operate within a custom, air‑gapped, DoD IT network to perform advanced support and deploy new capabilities.
- Create and present materials to convey concepts to a broad audience.
- Create, update, and maintain system documentation, schematics, and operational guides.
- Interface with other teams to define and implement cyber risk posture, mitigation, and information assurance across the enterprise IT service portfolio.
- Work primarily onsite in a protected environment with occasional off‑site opportunities.
- Solid background in systems administration using Linux and Windows desktop/server OS (Windows
11/Server
2022/RHEL). - Understanding of on‑premises enterprise IT systems and their impact on security for ICAM, secure messaging, logging, cyber situational awareness, and endpoint detection and response.

II certification (e.g., CISSP, Security+). - Typically requires a STEM degree and at least 2years of relevant experience (or an advanced degree).
- Proficient with enterprise identity management (LDAP, Active Directory, PKI).
- Experience with servers, workstations, and various COTS software platforms.
- Experience maintaining Windows servers and troubleshooting applications.
- Experience with enterprise firewalls and firewall policies/rulesets.
- Basic network engineering fundamentals: OSI layers, IP addressing, subnetting, TCP/IP stack, VLANs, well‑known ports and protocols.
