We are seeking a highly skilled Instructional Designer/Project Manager to lead and manage training initiatives for our client. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both instructional design and project management, with a focus on developing and delivering effective training solutions. This role requires a proactive approach to project oversight, meticulous attention to training design, and a commitment to ensuring successful end-user adoption.

On-site in Largo, FL Contract Type: 1099 Contract - 1 month, then convert to W2 Hourly Contract Project Duration: 11 months Project Capacity: 40 hours

Responsibilities

This role combines training design, development/delivery, and project management, with an estimated breakdown of responsibilities as follows:

Training Design, Development, and Delivery (60%)

  • Perform thorough analysis and provide comprehensive project documents and briefings to inform training strategies.
  • Monitor and complete required Master Training Readiness Workplan tasks by the identified due dates, collaborating closely with the client's team.
  • Assist the department with critical change management aspects
  • Design, develop, and deliver impactful training to department end users, in close collaboration with the Training and Development team.

Project Management (40%)

  • Create required reporting documents for training initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive project training management portfolio, including:
    • Project training plans
    • Detailed task lists
    • Thorough risk assessments
    • Issue documents
    • Governance documents
  • Conduct and facilitate training development and related status, project team, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Attend client meetings as required to stay informed and aligned with project goals.
  • Assign, track, and monitor training project activities to ensure timely completion.
  • Provide weekly updates on product and task status, project plans, and reports to relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage project communication effectively, as needed, to ensure all parties are informed.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in instructional design and project management, particularly within a training or e-learning context.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Proficiency in creating project documentation such as training plans, task lists, and risk assessments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of leading meetings and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with various teams and stakeholders, including technical and non-technical staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
  • Independent self-starter, able to troubleshoot issues and find effective solutions with minimal direction.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
