Position:
Principal Cyber Security Engineer (Starburst Engineering Department, Largo, FL).
Required Security Clearance:
Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility. U.S. citizenship and an existing clearance are required prior to start.
- Implement and sustain requirements for deployed products and services in operational and sustainment states.
- Work within the Security Engineering domain on a custom, air‑gapped Department of Defense IT network to perform advanced support and direct deployment of new capabilities.
- Create, present, and update system documentation, schematics and operational guides and procedures.
- Interface with cross‑functional teams to define, determine and implement cyber risk posture, mitigation and information assurance across the enterprise IT service portfolio.
- Maintain interaction with Project Engineers, Cost Account Managers and Integrated Product Team Leads to support program execution.
- Travel up to 10% of time; work primarily onsite in a closed area environment.
You Must Have:
- Solid background in Systems Administration using Linux and Windows desktop and server operating systems (Windows 11/Server 2022, RHEL).
- Proficient knowledge of Enterprise Identity Management applications and design including LDAP (e.g., Active Directory) and PKI.
- Experience with VMware products (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi) and virtualization implementations.
- Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., CISSP, Security+).
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or an advanced STEM degree with at least 5 years of experience.
- Active Top Secret U.S. government clearance with SCI eligibility prior to start.
We Prefer:
- Experience with various computing hardware and software platforms, including servers and workstations, and COTS applications.
- Maintenance of Windows servers and troubleshooting software applications.
- Experience with enterprise firewalls, firewall policies/rulesets.
- Configuration and troubleshooting SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk).
Salary range: $107,500 – $204,500 US dollars.
