* Job Description:

** The primary function of this position is to perform administrative & fieldwork in planning, budgeting, directing, and supervising the maintenance and repair of buildings and facilities in unincorporated Monroe County. Work involves maintaining a good working relationship with Project Management and other stakeholders, such as FEMA and insurance adjusters.
** ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
*** Schedules all work of the Facilities Maintenance.
* Responds to requests and correspondence for repair.
* Prepares estimates for new construction and repairs.
* Prepares work schedules and approves time sheets.
* Provides work evaluations.
* Provides monthly progress report of work completed in addition to normal maintenance procedures.
* Coordinates, inspects, and approves all subcontractor work.
* Represents the Department at meetings.
* Conducts field work and verifies completion of work orders.
* Provides direct supervision for developing and fulfilling maintenance, renovation, and remodeling.
* Implements personnel procedures such as evaluations, interviews, disciplinary actions, and recommended hiring of employees.
* Coordinates with clients, schedules, set up/tear down, and ensures coverage of events at the Murray

E. Nelson Government Center such as: BOCC meetings, cultural events, and educational presentations.
* Performs small grant writing.
* Responsible for personally knowing and following the County’s Personnel Policies and Procedures, Administrative Instructions, Department Operating Procedures, and applicable Statutes and Regulations.  Responsible for ensuring others also adhere to these standards.
* Performs other related job duties as assigned.
* In the event of special, emergency, or disaster situations, employee may be required to work schedules other than those for which they are regularly scheduled in any capacity deemed appropriate.

** A bachelor's degree and a minimum of five (5) years of prior related work experience are required.

** Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
*** Ability to organize work around broad organizational goals and processes.
* Ability to perform entry-level professional work, including basic data analysis and synthesis, report creation, process performance, and regulatory or compliance activities.
* Ability to follow basic guidelines for operational activities. Ability to make decisions that govern the activities and behaviors of staff members.
* Ability to provide updates to senior managers, elected officials, or other community groups or organizations. Ability to ensure the provision of efficient and effective services.
** PHYSICAL DEMANDS
** The work is medium and requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
* Balancing:
Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. The amount of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.
* Climbing:
Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized.
* Crawling:
Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
* Crouching:
Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
* Feeling:
Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture, by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
* Grasping:
Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
* Handling:
Picking, holding, or otherwise working, primarily with the whole hand.
* Hearing:
Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discrimination in sound.
