Position: Commercial Site Manager [S]

job summary

as a cbre, government & defense services cleaning manager, you will be responsible for executing the strategic direction of onsite cleaning operations. You will oversee cleaning activities, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety while managing staff and resources effectively.

primary job functions
  • provide formal supervision for employees, conduct performance evaluations and coaching, and oversee recruiting and hiring of new staff.
  • coordinate and manage the team’s daily activities, establish work schedules, assign tasks, cross‑train staff, and set and track departmental deadlines.
  • focus on strategic planning and implementation of best‑practice initiatives and innovation to keep the location at the forefront of cleaning and operational practices.
  • advance planning of all cleaning operations, including periodic tasks with clear schedules, and ensure completion of all duties with proper sign‑off.
  • drive training and development of the team to establish strong working practices.
  • provide professional support to the business in service‑related matters and to clients on all contractual matters.
  • own and manage the resolution of all cleaning feedback or complaints.
  • approve payroll and maintain labor levels to achieve cost savings for the department.
  • conduct daily site audits to ensure high standards of cleanliness and a safe environment.
  • confirm quality performance measures (kpis/slas) are adhered to and resolve any non‑compliance with clear plans and next steps.
  • lead by example, modeling behaviors that align with cbre, gds values, and influence stakeholders to reach agreements.
  • apply knowledge of your discipline and how it integrates with others to meet team and departmental objectives.
  • identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day‑to‑day and moderately complex issues that may arise in existing systems and processes.
education, experience and certification
  • bachelor’s degree preferred with 3–5 years of relevant experience; or a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • microsoft certification preferred.
knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • fulfill the physical requirements of the role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. Or more.
  • experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention preferred.
  • ability to exchange sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations, and handle problems.
  • leadership skills to motivate the team and impact quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department.
  • proficiency with microsoft office products (word, excel, outlook, etc.).
  • extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.
compensation & benefits

the base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $98,000. This position may also be eligible for a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, well‑being, financial planning, and short‑term incentive benefits.
