* Job Summary:

** Coordinates aquatic maintenance and repair of an Olympic-size competition pool and an aquatics center, regulating over 1,000,000 gallons of water, and specializes in skilled maintenance and repair work of aquatic facilities, including water slides, play structures, tower diving, and other amenities. The coordinator maintains chemical balances and related chemical testing and control systems, performs pump repairs, maintains filtration systems, and repairs geothermal heating and cooling systems.

* • Maintains safe and proper chemical-controlled aquatic facilities that meet or exceed health department, local, state, and federal standards
• Maintains the geothermal system that feeds into the pumps that are used to heat and cool the pool water while maintaining year-round pool temperatures of 82 degrees
• Maintains pumps and systems with the ability to either install or repair them
• Familiar with all types of filtration systems that include both manual and automated systems, including backwashing
• Requires understanding of the hydraulics of pool systems; maintains proper pool chemistry, including calibrating and adjusting chemical dispensers and controllers, calculates proper flow rates, collects water samples, and adjusts chemicals as needed
• Coordinates operation and maintenance of pumps, filters, pipes, valves, processors, chemical injectors, aerator systems, chlorinators, and motors up to 30 hp
• Troubleshoots unplanned mechanical failures or weather-related issues with before and after testing of water chemistry and adjusts
• Orders chemicals and maintains storage at two aquatic centers; maintains MSDS sheets for all chemicals stored on site
