Material Handler
Position Overview
Associate Material Handler. This entry‑level warehouse position involves receiving, storing, issuing, packaging and shipping materials (raw materials and finished goods). It also includes chemical handling and mail room activities. The role is onsite in Largo, FL with split shift hours of 11:30 am–8 pm.
Responsibilities- Develop skills and understanding of warehouse processes, equipment, and systems.
- Receiving and dispersing parts from production and other departments.
- Processing incoming purchase receipts; maintaining errorless inventory to support purchasing, planning, and production.
- Organizing materials to maximize efficiencies: generating and using A.P.W.s from counting scales.
- Transporting materials between buildings; maintaining reject hold area; moving gas cylinders between and within all buildings.
- Monthly statistical inventory.
- Picking, packaging, and shipping orders from inventory.
- Replenishing prime inventory locations.
- Performing housekeeping tasks to keep the work area safe, clean, and organized.
- Performing chemical handling activities as assigned.
- Performing all mail room functions, including processing incoming/outgoing mail and completing internal mail deliveries across the buildings and company.
- Maintaining 5S standards and continuous improvement activities.
- Following all safety policies.
- Performing other duties and special projects as assigned.
Work Experience Requirements:
Previous warehouse experience preferred, but not required.
Knowledge Requirements:
Mathematical ability to calculate shipping charges/weights, piece count, unit of measure, etc.; safe handling of hazardous chemicals and waste; strong organizational and time‑management skills; ability to follow verbal and written instructions; willingness to work all scheduled overtime; demonstration of a positive attitude in a high‑performance work team environment.
