Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Shifts: 3-11pm

We are currently looking for experienced LPNs to provide compassionate, resident‑focused nursing care in our assisted living and memory care community at The Preserve at Dunedin.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high‑quality nursing care and support to residents in Assisted Living and/or Memory Care.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and community policies.
  • Monitor resident health and communicate changes to physicians, families, and team members.
  • Support, guide, and mentor care staff (HHAs, CNAs, and facility staff) to ensure the highest standards of service.
  • Make daily rounds of all residents and report observed symptoms and conditions to the Director of Wellness or delegated RN/physician.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately, observe effectiveness, and report to physician if needed.
  • Inform the Director of Wellness of needed supplies and equipment and order medication from pharmacy when necessary.
  • Administer emergency first aid and ensure daily assignments for patient care are carried out.
  • Maintain cleanliness and neatness of nurse’s station, medication room, and cart.
  • Assist in the orientation of new staff and complete admission and discharge evaluations as necessary.
  • Check equipment for cleanliness and condition, provide guidance to nursing assistants, and promote good interpersonal relationships with residents, visitors, and personnel.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program, currently licensed to practice per state.
  • Work experience in the geriatric field.
  • Strong clinical skills and a passion for working with older adults.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Compassionate, patient, and dependable.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to work under pressure at times.
  • Must have warm, friendly, congrienal personality; present a professional appearance and possess an empathetic attitude toward seniors.
  • Ability to assess a resident’s condition and intervene when needed.
  • CPR certified, or obtained within 90 days of hire and renewed yearly thereafter.
  • Ability to communicate well in writing.
  • May have their picture taken and image used in social media or community advertising.
  • May be video recorded from devices installed by families in residents’ apartments.
