Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda, is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.
About the roleDetermine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable results. Assist the Center Manager and Center Physician, ensure compliance with plasma collection regulations, and provide environmental, health, and safety support.
How you will contribute- Determine donor eligibility; manage informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical exam, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis.
- Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in SOPs and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of standing orders and donor transport to emergency care.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on unacceptable findings, or medical or technical issues involving donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees where applicable.
- Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health; refer to EHS guidance on incidents.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats in the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Current license or certification in the state of assignment: EMT-Paramedic.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
Hourly wage: $24.32 – $33.44 (actual wage may vary by qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location).
