Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Overnights
Full Time | 11:00 pm – 7:00 am
$17–$20 /hr + Shift Differentials
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays an integral role in supporting our team and residents by assisting with all Nursing Department functions. The primary purpose of this position is to provide assistance with activities of daily living and to support residents in a safe, compassionate environment.
Essential Job Functions- Provide physical support for residents during daily living activities (lifting, transfers, bed mobility, bathing, dressing, toileting, standing, walking, exercising, serving and assisting with meals, and taking vital signs).
- Observe and document each resident’s health, behavior, physical and emotional condition, and promptly report all changes to the nurse.
- Respond promptly and courteously to resident call signals, signal lights, bells, or intercom systems to determine resident needs.
- Promote personal safety and a clean environment by observing infection control practices, following facility guidelines, and reporting unsafe situations to the nurse.
- Communicate resident conditions, changes and concerns to nurses.
- Complete required documentation in a timely manner.
- Provide companionship, comfort and support to residents.
- Meet federal and state in‑service requirements.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Make independent decisions and follow instructions.
- Deal tactfully with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
- Work effectively with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset individuals.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, residents, and families.
- Meet all applicable state and federal requirements for the position.
- Prefer 6 months or more of experience in a home care, assisted living, or long‑term care facility.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs; may involve lifting up to 75 lbs during resident transfer.
- Ability to exert maximum muscular force to lift, push, pull or carry patients.
- Use of abdominal and lower back muscles over time without fatigue.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, stoop, stretch, twist, sit and reach.
- Fine motor skills.
- Execute tasks independently.
- Express oneself clearly and effectively verbally.
- Concentrate on moderate details amid frequent interruptions.
- Maintain visual acuity.
- Maintain hearing alertness.
- Ambient room temperatures and lighting.
